CAS So Far...

Mr Stephen Crichton - CAS Coordinator

Ista

In early October eight Grade 11 students attended an ISTA Drama workshop in Manchester. “How is this CAS?”, you might ask. It fulfils the requirements of Activity and Creativity for CAS because of the nature of the program and also because it is not part of the compulsory academic curriculum for Drama. It was optional. The students (and some weird old bloke) participated in a range of workshops with leading directors and stage-craft professionals as well as seeing two very powerful, very different interpretations of Shakespeare’s plays. Thanks to Ms Daphne for this great experience.

ASA

There is always a number of After School Activities and service providers in need of extra support with their activities. CAS students are reminded that this is a very convenient way to demonstrate Service in CAS, as the programmes are on-site and straight after school. See Ms Nicky or Mr Steve for more information.

Handover

All Grade 12 students should now be in the process of planning their hand-over of the programmes and experiences they have been involved in this years, especially leadership roles within these programmes. Grade 11 students: this is now the time to step up and make choices about which programmes you wish to lead as we move into the new calendar year.

Migrant Women and PeaceLab

Migrant Women and PeaceLab are again working together with the Grade 10 cohort to organise the annual Food Drive and Winter Clothing Drive as part of Thankfulness Week at the end of November. All donations of non-perishable food items and warm, clean winter clothing can be brought to Reception or to Mr Steve in HS 5.
