T
housands of residents of Palmetto Bay and South-Dade came out on one of the hottest days of the year for Palmetto Bay’s Back-to-School Carnival, sponsored by Gus Machado Ford of Kendall, Aug. 4, at Palmetto Bay Park. The free event was open to the public and included free backpacks filled with school supplies (thanks Gus!), free bicycle helmets provided by the Palmetto Bay Police Outreach team, free rides, and plenty of carnival food and activities. Despite the heat, it was an extremely successful first-time event.
