The Heart of your Fishfinder

The Transducer

Fishfinders have been around for a long time now, and there have been many improvements over the years. However, none of that matters if you don't understand the heart of your fishfinder. I am talking about the transducer, the part of the device that can make or break your expensive investment. So first how does it work the transducer is the part of the fish finder that emits a signal at a certain pre-determined frequency which is sent through the water. The signal is then reflected back off the bottom, structures, and fish in the area. The signal is then received by the transducer and sent to the fish finder to be displayed. It seems pretty simple but there is more to understand.
