The Float Tube Fishing Forum Vol: 1 Issue: 3 | Page 27

A few more tips before we move on to fish species and fishing gear.

Always be aware of your surroundings.

Beware of mooring lines, kelp, or anything that can tangle you up.

Try to avoid seals if possible. Never hang a stringer of fish in the water. And just be calm if you do come across a seal they will normally leave you alone.

Be respectful of other people’s property. Do not hit other boats with your lures

Be aware of restricted areas. Check navigational charts to see where these areas are located.

Don’t tube on an empty stomach. You burn a lot of calories and will need to have a sensible meal 30 min prior to entering the water.

Check weather conditions

Always try to tube with a partner.

Next issue we will go over rigging your tube, fishing equipment and tactics for the various species found in saltwater.

Consider yourself blessed that you fish!!
