Comments like Palm Island being a place housing lazy and ‘dysfunctional’ people who ‘should
get off their bums’ and ‘perform’ by the then Premier Peter Beattie are not needed. A proactive
strategy needs to be put into place for the Island to have a prospering future. We have a duty
to right the wrongs of the past, to make all of our country reach equal standards of living.
You can forgive, but you can never
forget.
