Chillva Market is an outdoor evening market that is open every day of the week except for Sunday. And the only reason it is closed on a Sunday is because Phuket has more markets open that day than Kelly has title wins.
So again I am convinced that this will be the last shopping of our trip and we just have to buy some last minute gifts here and not at the 7/11 which is what I suggested.
It's a market aimed at the local Thai population and not the hoards of tourists. Which means
reasonable prices and friendly people. I’m starting to not hate it here.
What made me glad that I had decided that we should do some more last minute shopping was
the immense array of food stalls. As far as the eye could see, as long as you are short sighted,
food stalls.
Vegetarian, meatetarian and even bugeterian. There was something for everyone. I
had a falafel.
Takin away our neatly packaged food we headed for the converted shipping containers. Within
were the very reason I had dragged my wife to come shopping with me. Beer! Beer by the
litertudes.
Placing our order, we ascended the steep makeshift stairs to enjoy the view, night sky and the
sounds of live music that was akin to the sounds of a battalion of soldiers armed with musical
weapons and were engaged in a war against human eardrums. Ah beer.
