affected us although who knows
what the next year or two will
bring?” he said.
Both Hexham and Bowburn
depots have had improvements,
extensions and refurbishments
with Bowburn doubling in size,
both of which we will feature in a
future issue. Improvements are
planned for Carlisle as well.
I asked Martyn about the
success of Rickerby. “You have to
believe in both agriculture and the
future. We invest heavily in staff
and our customers ensuring they
are looked after at all times. We
do a lot of work helping farmers to
get the most from their equipment
as often many are not fully aware
of the full scope and capability.”
Quite a few Rickerby staff
have been with the firm for
many years which is great for
customer service, continuity and
confidence. Ken Simpson, for
example, remarkably is still going
strong after working for Rickerby
for more than 60 years and is
often the one to beat Martyn in of

in recent years but farm sizes
have increased considerably.
One thing is for sure everyone
