so he has implemented more
onsite training and sent more
on courses and encouraged
his salesmen to visit more
customers. A welcome re
-addition to the staff was the
return of his lead fitter from
Australia who found less green
grass there. He was actually back
in Marr before his tools!
There are some exiting Depot
developments occurring in 2017
that we will be reporting on in
future issues.
Farmstar has a very loyal
following and Andrew likes
to have just the right number
of quality franchises so parts,
backup and service can really
be delivered. An example of
this is the big emphasis and
development with Bomford
Turner with their parts offering
that you can read of elsewhere
in this feature.2 016 also saw the
welcome addition of the JOSKIN
franchise- top quality machinery
with excellent back up.
An important addition to the
Farmstar arm is the satellite
office within York Auction
Centre. Andrew has been really
impressed with this as it affords
another important access point
for his all-important customers.
This also fits in with his strategy
of going out to see customers
much more – this helps Farmstar
being able to understand exactly
what customers need and then
supplying them with precisely
the right equipment for the job
as nowadays farmers will only
spend on what they actually
need.
2017 generally has a much
more positive and upbeat
feeling than anyone expected
– this was certainly so when I
talked to farmers at the open
day and as ever Andrew’s
positive approach remains
a constant which in turn
feeds right across the whole
Farmstar team. We wish them a
prosperous 2017.
