between Methley and Castleford in West Yorkshire

Vicky Jagger and her sister,
Lucy, are behind the remarkable
success story that is the
Methley Bridge Farm Shop.
Credit for launching the shop
must go to Vicky, however both
she and her father first came
up with the idea and her father
was very keen for her to go
ahead, because at the time and
like many other farmers, he was
looking for ways in which to
diversify.
So, on 29thApril 2005,
following the refurbishment
and fitting out of an old
farm outbuilding, Methley
Bridge Farm Shop opened
for business. Since then
Vicky and Lucy have worked
tirelessly in the business.
Once they had got across
the message to consumers
that the shop was nearly as
cheap as the supermarket - but
twice as good - the number
of customers steadily grew
until, four years ago, they
recognised the need to extend
the shop.
They have established a
reputation for top quality meat,
fresh produce and daily baked
bread products - and their
locally famous pork pies are
much in demand. Vicky and
Lucy can now do all their own
butchery as well.
Vicky will not compromise
on quality but insists that
everything must be the best,
