The two 10kW installations at

Like so many multi-purpose
buildings in rural locations,
Middleham Key Centre is
no different. Built in 1998,
it serves the community by
providing versatile space
for training sessions, public
meetings and private functions.
So the need to slash energy
costs was paramount in order
to safeguard its long term
future and to ensure hire
charges remain competitive.
Dresser-Solar was approached
to fit a 30kW scheme
comprising 120 black German
manufactured solar panels.
The finished product blends
perfectly with an unusual fanshaped roof.
Another community facility
to benefit from solar power is
the newly built activity centre
at Hillside Rural Activity Park
near Thirsk. The centre, which

sits within a 28 acre site, is
home to a number of clubs
including Hillside Scouts and
Knayton FC. It features an
indoor gymnasium, changing
rooms, showers and toilets.
In constant use and playing
an integral part in the annual
Borrowby Show, the centre
will be able to keep its energy
costs to an absolute minimum
as a result of a 10kW, 40
panel installation using

A much-used garden centre
in Ripon, F. Tate & Sons Ltd,
has also turned to DresserSolar as it goes even greener.
Supplying to the rural and
farming community in those
parts, and relying as it does
on heat and light through the
year, the garden centre will
benefit from the installation of a
10kW scheme comprising 40
German-manufactured panels.
Summarising the rising
demand for solar PV, Steven
Dresser said: “More and more
rural businesses including
farms and community centres
are starting to realise that it
makes sense to harness the
power of the sun. The cost of
solar panels has continued
to fall in recent years, making
them more affordable, and
yet the returns on investment
remain very good. Being local
and well established, we are
ideally placed to help more
customers cut their energy
costs while reducing their
carbon footprint. We use high
performance products with
proven durability and have a
team of 15 qualified tradesmen
backed by four full-time
office staff to respond to any
requirement.”
