When tractor-mad James Dring thought about transporting himself and his new bride Danielle to their wedding reception – naturally, it just had to be a tractor! James didn’t have to go far to find a suitable machine: He works as a tractor engineer for Lincolnshirebased farm machinery specialists, The Doubleday Group, who kindly provided a gleaming green ribbonbedecked John Deere tractor for the 35 minute journey from church to the reception at the Dower House Hotel, Woodhall Spa, and kindly loaned a second tractor to form a guard of honour outside the reception venue. The tractors were not the only unusual transport James had also arranged for his bride, Danielle Newman, who loves camper vans, to be taken to the church in her very own dream machine, a Volkswagen camper van. James said: “It was a fantastic day and my employers loaning us two tractors was the icing on the cake.” Danielle, a deputy nursery manager from Branston near Lincoln, said: “It just had to be a tractor!” GOLD for Merlo The Merlo Telescopic Handler P40.7 Hybrid has been awarded the GOLD medal for Innovation ahead of Agritechnia in Hanover, out of 400 entries.
