Free-range has certainly been
the best move Anna has made
so far in her short career in
pig production. The awards
that have come her way have
accelerated the demand for
what her business is producing
and her main task at present is
now taking marketing further to
exploit every opportunity.
“Marketing is my number one
and most time-consuming job,”
she told me. “We work directly
with butchers, restaurants
and farm shops and also
supply wholesalers right
across Yorkshire, Lancashire,
Cheshire, Durham, Derbyshire
and now even London.
‘We supply some full
carcases to butchers and
farm shops so that they
can take them through their
own processes to make the
products they want. One of
those is Drewton’s Farm Shop
in South Cave run by Katie
Taylor.
