IN 2021 we gave the largest and most technologically advanced combine harvester in the world its debut at the Great Yorkshire Show . The John Deere X9 1100 combine harvester was one of the stars of the show , attracting widespread media attention . This year it ’ s back at our stand – and , as you can imagine , can easily be spotted from a distance . The X9 1100 is a truly amazing machine , the machine is at the pinnacle of harvest technology .

The flagship machine represents the next level of John Deere harvesting performance to help large-scale farmers achieve more tonnes per hour and more hectares per day , specifically in tough , high-yielding wet conditions . It features a 45-foot header and can harvest wheat at an impressive 100 tonnes per hour , with less than one per cent grain loss . The X9 also has market leading comfort in the cab including a massage

chair . As every farmer knows , harvesting takes its toll on the body , especially on the back , and this sophisticated massage chair is specifically designed to ease tension and pain .

The X9 will be taking pride of place at our stands , which now have a new layout . We have moved one our stands so that we now have three plots in a row in the main Ripon Farm Services spot . We will be joined by F G Adamson and Son , a leading

Yorkshire professional turf care machinery company , which we acquired at the beginning of the year . This acquisition is the next stage in the evolution of our business as we offer our services to the professional turf market for the first time . We are privileged to have taken on experts in their field and are delighted they are joining us at the show .

Meanwhile we have recently begun to collaborate with the popular Grassmen Clothing

brand , with dual branded clothing in all sizes and a range of different colours . The clothing is for adults and children and will be available to purchase at the show from one of our stands .

We will also be providing careers advice for young people thinking about a career in agriculture at our stand . At Ripon Farm Services , we are constantly looking for new employees who are passionate about the industry and about developing a productive and sustainable relationship with our customers and suppliers . Significantly , we are a proud partner of John Deere . They have helped provide training for 30 years and have a renowned apprenticeship programme . 1,200 apprentices have qualified since 1996 . Ripon Farm Services invests massively in the training and development of its employees and with the support of John Deere who have recently built a state-of-the-art

training centre , it underlines the company ’ s commitment to our current and future employees . It is also important to stress that our industry is for all genders . Many females are taking up the opportunities to work in the industry and take up our apprenticeships and we welcome this change .

And , finally , we are putting a John Deere forager on the president ’ s lawn . This is the John Deere 9700 with the new 30R grass pick-up . The new 30R grass pick-up is equipped with a big 80cm diameter auger , larger 20cm auger flights and six-time time bars with 6,5mmm tines – designed for high throughput and making sure no crop gets left behind .
