GARY ATKINSON & SONS
FENCING SERVICES
Making a big difference to their efficiency is a full array of the latest equipment, which means not only do they do a very good job, they do it in a timely fashion. Gary’ s latest addition is a brand new VECTOR post driver from Brennan’ s that Gary has had fully electronically adapted so they can all use with ease and at pace.
I asked about their biggest job: this was one locally which spanned two years, but in two stints- one of 13 days, one of eight days – during which time they installed a staggering 16,500 metres of stock fencing! Was that the toughest? No- they have recently completed 5,500 metres of stock fencing on Broomfleet Island in the Humber. This was It was a tough one, because not only was it all by hand using traditional methods, but because it was on the island, all materials and hand tools had to be carried across by MULE( not the four legged variety!) Most of the materials were transported by the owner – who also funded all the work- using his quad. Gary’ s MULE saw the most use going for the lunch run! They spent 13 days working in the wet against the tide only managing seven hours a day, which for some might be considered a normal day – but not so for the fencing boys, whose working day starts at 6am and can go on until 8pm and beyond in order to get the job done. Gary’ s basic rule of thumb is that they will work anywhere as long as they can get home at night.
It’ s no great surprise that they have such a strong reputation and as far as agricultural and estate fencing is concerned they can keep out or in cattle, deer, pigs, poultry, rabbits, badgers, sheep, goats even otters. All types of fencing work are undertaken, as well as repairs. If you want fencing of the highest standard at the right price, alongside friendly service then contact the G Team.
