DAIRY LE GRAND FROMAGE! With Le Grand Départ in mind, an unusual sight has appeared in Wensleydale – no it’s not crop circles but the appearance of giant white Yorkshire Wensleydale cheeses across the famous dale. Kevin Clarkson, local Wensleydale dairy farmer, explained: “In celebration of the world’s greatest cycle race coming to the Yorkshire Dales, a number of the farmers had the idea of creating large Yorkshire Wensleydale cheese replicas out of big round bales, as a true Yorkshire Welcome for the thousands of visitors expected to line the route. We wanted to show off what is special about our area and our milk which goes into making the famous Yorkshire Wensleydale cheese, of which we are all very proud. The whole thing has caused a stir - not least with my own herd who really seem to like them!” Pedigree Dairy Holstein Herd to be Dispersed One of the UK’s foremost pedigree dairy
