EVENTS Plans for East of England Smithfield Festival 2014 well on track First set of judges announced. Plans are now well on track for this year’s East of England Smithfield Festival, with the event organisers announcing the judging line up for the show, which will take place on Thursday 4th and Friday 5th December at the East of England Showground, Peterborough. Taking on the task of adjudicating in this year’s prime cattle and baby-beef classes will be Wendy Morgan, Llangadog, Carmarthenshire. Mrs Morgan is a well-known face on the commercial show cattle circuit having judged at Beef Expo last year and she has also bred many show winners, including last year’s Countryside Live champion, the carcass champion at the English Winter Fair in 2012 and the steer champion at Brecon in 2012. Meanwhile, sheep exhibitors will be entering under judge Matthew Prince, Chesterfield, Derbyshire.
