RIPON FARM SERVICES SHOW

Back with the WOW Factor

THE 19th and 20th January saw the triumphant return of the Ripon Farm Services 2-day open event at the Harrogate Showground Yorkshire Event Centre . The show also marked Ripon ’ s 40th Anniversary . As you entered the event centre you were met by the helpful showground staff and Ripon Team who were following the government guidance on Covid .
On the sign in desk as well as the usual raffle prize entry and full details of the day ’ s seminars which all qualified for BASIS and NRoSO points . There was a full set of covid show protocols for everyone . As you entered the main show area it was clear to see the amount of effort and preparation beforehand . Impressive arrays of machinery from all the key exhibitors and to your right a truly impressive John Deere display . Ripon Farm Services are the first UK dealership to host the first UK public viewing of the new John Deere 6R tractor , Europe ’ s best-selling tractor . Since their launch in 2011 , John Deere ’ s 6R series tractors have set standards in both field and transport performance , as well as precision agriculture technology , and the new 6R takes these standards to even greater heights .
Giving the show an enormous WOW factor was the John Deere X9 1100 combine harvester which caused such a stir at Great Yorkshire Show last year , it is the
largest and most technologically advanced in Europe !
There was a huge amount of interest in this and the 6R range .
As well as John Deere , other exhibitors had impressive displays to the show , including Kramer , Bailey Trailers , Kuhn , Ifor Williams Trailers , Spearhead , Sumo , Dalbo , Mazzotti Sprayers , Waler Watson , Bunning and Zurn .
Hall two had an impressive display of service exhibitors from the likes of Karcher , Kramp and Vapourmatic as well as a showcase for Ripon Farm ’ s many support functions . As ever there was an impressive display from Ripon Land Rover now owned by the Lloyd group .
I attended on the Wednesday , from early on there was a steady flow of visitors and then as usual towards lunchtime everywhere really filled up , not least the café between Halls 1 an2 , this area is always packed . Going round many of the stands it was difficult to get to talk to people as many were heavily engaged in chatting to farmers , ever keen to know about the various machinery and hammer out those all-important New Year deals . I did speak to a number of exhibitors who said they were having a good day with lots of genuine interest .
