The Online Virtual week was a great way to still be able to involve customers old and new at this crucial time in the agricultural year . A huge amount of effort was put into it behind the scenes . Many of the manufacturers submitted informative and engaging videos which were streamed during the week , including the likes of Richard Western , Lynx Engineering and Kverneland . These also included excellent machinery demos as well . Added to this , the Farmstar staff were doing machinery demos and depot updates . The week got off to a great start with an introductory video from Andrew Waddington , looking more like Scott of the Antarctic rather than the Maestro of Marr as he appeared crossing a snow-filled landscape to deliver his message . As is always the case when putting together videos , it is never one take , so in the usual Farmstar humorous tradition they posted a collection of hilarious outtakes on the Friday , which they also dedicated to fundraising for their chosen charity Yorkshire Air Ambulance .
A big feature of the annual open day is the strong level of deals always done on the day ; to keep this tradition alive , there was an online auction with some 30 auction lots that could be watched and bid on during the week . These were genuine special deals right across the brands . Some of the lots attracted a real bidding scramble .
An unexpected benefit of the online open week was the number of customers attending from further afield . It also brought along farmers who Farmstar
have never dealt with . So , the knock-on effect of the week ’ s success is that when it comes to the 2022 when things will be back to normal ( hopefully ). The annual open day will be back with the online open week running alongside it , which should make Farmstar all the more accessible , with those who love to attend coming along and those unable and further afield being able to go online and even watch a live feed from the open day !
