I also asked Andrew – what
makes FARMSTAR different?
“If you are going to give the
customer a good deal and
service then you have to have
the knowledge to back up your
advice etc,” he said. “Everyone
here receives coaching and
training not just our workshop
technicians. When a customer
buys from us it must prove to be
a step forward and a worthwhile
investment. We work closely
with all our agricultural partners
to maintain the best standards
and really instil confidence.

So far as FARMSTAR’S
biggest challenges and
successes, Andrew said:
“I guess it is being able to
maintain a consistent level of
service and satisfaction across
25 years no matter what - which
leads onto our biggest success
after having achieved this we
have then been able to grow
from one depot to four and
never looked back.”
So as to the future? Again,
Andrew was very clear: “I think
we have the right number of
depots covering an area with a
real diversity of farming so we
aren’t reliant on one particular
aspect of farming. Business with
contractors, local authorities
and the groundcare side is
also key to continued success.
As ever we can’t take the eye
off the ball with our customer
service. And FARMSTAR has
to be a one stop shop where
the farmer can get anything he
needs.”
As this year’s open day
showed, FARMSTAR continues
to be extremely popular
with both new and existing
customers. Every farmer I
spoke to on the day was
complimentary about the good,
straightforward service they
get from FARMSTAR and the
word they used most often
was “trust” – which says it all
really. We wish Andrew and
