Acquisition for Lloyds

C M Varley & Co, the Darlington-based manufacturer of
Animal Feed, has joined Lloyds Animal Feeds.

for more than 165 years, C M Varley & Co
will become part of the The Lloyds Group.
The business will continue to operate
from its current site in Darlington and
trade as C.M Varley & Co. Ltd.

The new Board of Directors will be:
From Varleys - David Helliwell (Sales
Director), and from Lloyds - Mark Meynell
(Managing Director), Ray Asquith
(Operations Director) and Steve Haycock
(Finance Director).
Commenting, Mark Meynell, said, “This
is a fantastic acquisition for the group
and complements our four existing feed
mills, which includes the Piercebridge Mill
of which we became the sole owner in
2013.
Philippa Herbert, of the Varley family
added, “Unfortunately, there were no
family members to continue our tradition
and so it was decided to find a buyer
who shared our family values and could
safeguard our legacy. We feel that we
have found the ideal partner in Lloyds”.
