BACKING BRITISH IS VITAL
FOR OUR BEEF INDUSTRY
After an stronger year in 2012 for our beef
producers, CHRIS MALLON, Chief Executive of the
National Beef Association looks at what steps are
needed for the future of British beef industry.
In 2013, the cattle industry had a
better than average year, in no small
part of course, aided by the discovery
of horsemeat in processed meat
products which led to consumers
demanding British.
The year also had the benefit of one of the
best summers in a long time. Although
trade tailed off slightly towards the end of
the year on for most of the year we saw
good prices for all classes of stock. 2013
