CARR HOUSE FARM Organic success in East Yorkshire Chris Berry talks with Tim & Caroline Sellers at Foston-on-the-Wolds. When conventional grain prices were on their knees if not quite on the floor - Tim and Caroline Sellers found that the premiums available for growing organic crops were attractive. Since 1999 their 480-acre Carr House Farm at Foston-on-theWolds has been devoted to this niche market and the couple have not looked back since. “The decision we made to convert to organic has worked for this farm and, as a consequence, all sorts of opportunities have evolved along the way,’ says Tim. “We set up what has become well-known as Side Oven Bakery 10 years ago and that has, in turn, attracted other branches of business for us. “We also set up a juicer to process apples to make juice.
