KUHN FOCUSSES ON STRIP TILLAGE BENEFITS
Promoting the benefits of strip tillage that only requires the seeding line to be cultivated will be a key focus for KUHN at the Ripon Farm Services Show . On the stand will be KUHN ’ s Striger 440 strip-till cultivator that is adaptable to varied conditions and can be equipped with a variety of drilling and fertiliser application options .
THE Striger is aimed at precision drilled crops such as maize and vegetables and , by only cultivating the seeding line , the soil structure between the rows is preserved , which in turn improves drainage and the ability to travel in less than favourable conditions . By only cultivating where the seed is placed , tillage can be targeted to suit the crop to encourage better root structures for crops such as maize . The Striger allows options for slurry injection and fertiliser placement and requires lower horsepower than a conventional system .
