FOR over a quarter of a century , Farmstar ’ s trusted partner for a full range of high-quality trailers and muck spreaders has been Richard Western . As tractors have become capable of higher speeds , farms have grown larger and the focus on safety in agriculture has rightly become more intense , Richard Western has stayed a step ahead with the development of trailers
and spreaders that exceed the demands of modern farming – and Farmstar has become one of its top-selling UK dealers .
Available in 11-24t capacities for grain , silage and general-purpose haulage , heavy-duty monocoque Suffolk tipping trailers are one of the most popular Richard Western products sold through Farmstar ’ s branch network . Designed for strength and durability , efficiency characteristics include an optimised
strength to weight ratio , with a low unladen weight enabling haulage of full payloads . A single six-stage ram with 55-degree tipping angle minimises unloading times and trailer body strain . Standard specification is comprehensive , with features optional on many other trailers , while an extensive options list enables every order to meet exact requirements .
Richard Western offers a number of specialist trailers , including a full flatbed range , 30-50 cu m self-unloading pusher ram trailers , stone / rubble extra heavy-duty models and the GRS range of 16 / 20 / 28- tonne chaser bins , of which Farmstar has sold a number of the 20t and 28t models . Richard Western also offers a full line of purpose-built rootcrop trailers , another key seller for Farmstar . The 13-18t Richard Western Rootcrop is a low-line trailer with a low side height of 1.14m ( 3 ’ 9 ”), and a long , tapered body to minimise damage potential when both loading and unloading . Pressed steel and channel sections optimise body strength-to-weight ratio .
Farmstar has also enjoyed long-term sales success with the Richard Western range of manure spreaders . This includes SDS side-discharge models and FBS horizontal beater spreaders , plus Delilah vertical beater machines , which can also be specified as spinning disc models , offering a wide potential spreading width .
