56 SIROMER TRACTORS LTD
Siromers are ideal for small-
holdings, equestrian, farms of
all sizes - they are marvellous
yard scrapers and ideal for all
hedging, topping, and flailing.
The beauty of the entire range
is their manoeuvrability. If you
have tight spaces to negotiate
either in the yard or on the land
or estate a Siromer is a must.
Many Siromer customers have
the much larger tractors for field
work etc but wouldn’t be without
their Siromer. In these days of
high fuel prices and focus on the
environment, the final thumbs up
for Siromer are the huge savings
they provide on fuel costs.
Due to their immense versa-
tility and manoeuvrability there
is ever increasing demand for
attachments to do every add on
job imaginable that larger tractors
do: baling, ploughing, hedge
trimming, hole boring, bale and
muck shifting, you name it, there
will now be an attachment to do
the job, including a range of con-
struction attachments. Louise
is constantly on the lookout for
new applications and is always
on the development trail. There
really isn’t anything you can’t do
with a Siromer.

One thing that has happened
as time has progressed, is that the
market has grown for the smaller
tractor and there have been a
few new entrants. However, the
biggest testament and what sets
Siromer apart from the majors
and the minor entrants, is that
now in the UK within 10 to 15 miles
anywhere you will be able to
speak to a Siromer owner and
ask them how good they are.
They also have a nationwide
network of fifteen dealers across
the country and are always
looking for more.
From a standing start twenty
years ago, that is a remarkable
achievement. We know how the
machine has developed, but how
has the UK business developed?
Nowadays, if you want to see and
talk to the owners and discuss
day to day models, technical etc,
Louise and Kath are your go-to
people. Jeff is still there in the
background, but at the forefront
are Kath and Louise with Louise
now firmly taking the helm and
taking the business forward.
These two ladies know absolutely
everything you ever need to know
about a Siromer. However, all the
staff, as I have mentioned before,
in the workshops and including
Helen in the office, know their
product back to front. You tell
them what you want, and they
will have the answer for you. This
includes all aspects of servicing
and fault-finding as well.
There have been the challenges
along the way, not least the
fire of 2017 that destroyed their
original main building and whilst
sorting insurance etc and many
other issues the business has
flourished and grown. Plans are
now approved for building of their
new state of the art showroom
and parts department next year,
which will give the business a
whole new dimension and allow
them to increase their stock.
The parts side of the business
has developed considerably.
Twenty years ago, they posted
parts out twice a week to cus-
tomers, the demands of today’s
marketplace have changed to
the extent they now have a full-
time parts person and parts go
out every day.
This is a superb example of a
family business, pulling together,
growing together developing and
progressing in knowledge and
expertise just like the Siromer
range. Their core values have
never changed. Putting the cus-
tomer first, always being available
to offer sound advice and provide
full support. Something dear to
farmer’s hearts – a simple pricing
strategy, one quote, one price and
no surprising add-ons.
Although the Howard family
are celebrating 20 years of
success, they are not having
an event as such. However, as
you can see from the feature
photo, they are supporting a
very worthy cause - the “Yellow
Wellies“ Farm Safety Foundation.
The Foundation works closely
with Young Farmers Clubs, HSE,
the Farm Safety Partnerships
and a range of farming organi-
sations to help raise awareness
of farm safety among young
farmers, to challenge and
change their attitudes towards
farming safety. The on-site
celebrations are being saved up
for the grand opening of the new
premises when complete, this
will still be in their twentieth year
and we look forward to raising a
glass to toast the next chapter in
this remarkable success story.
