They were the breed that John Aynsley has looked to since taking over as farm manager of 3250 acres at Skelton Farming Ltd ., part of the Skelton & Gilling Estates from his base at Low House Farm , Stanghow in Lingdale .

John moved close to industrial Teesside in North Yorkshire from the peaceful

Coquet Valley in Northumberland where he and his wife Anne had a mixed farm of 500 acres .

I looked at all choices of breeds with the estate owner when I came here six and a half years ago , and we settled on the Stabiliser as it suits our farming system , but it is also much more than that .
