Animal welfare is becoming more important and Simon stays up to date on all developments . All his equipment is up to date and is cleaned and disinfected daily .

Simon favours the Upright crush as this is less stressful for the animal and allows him to trim closer to calving . As well as general trimming Simon can treat all infections / ulcers etc as well as offering Dehorning , Disbudding and freeze branding .
I asked Simon about the future , as well as continuing to grow the foot trimming business he and Kathryn plan to have their own farm at some point . They currently have 60 breeding ewes that they intend to double next year which makes lambing time very busy . They ’ re all on rented land around Shelf currently . Simon and Kat really work well as a team and both enjoy working hard , fitting everything in , as well as looking after Annabelle ! And if that wasn ’ t enough they have just spent several months renovating an old cottage !
