Farm News Nominations Sought for UK Dairy Industry Star »»The John Dennison Lifetime Achievement Award is returning to Borderway UK Dairy Expo, held in Carlisle, for the fourth year. This award is in memory of the life time industry contribution made by Cumbrian dairy farmer and highly regarded breeder John Dennison. The aim of this award is to recognise the dairy cattle breeder or exhibitor judged to be a high achiever and exemplary role model within the dairy industry. The winner of last year’s award was Sammy McCormick, owner of the much admired Hilltara herd in Northern Ireland. Glynn Lucas at Harrison and Hetherington said: “This award really is a unique award for UK Dairy Industry. It recognises people who shine and who have put their lifetimes work into the industry, just like John Dennison which it honours.” This award is given to the nominee judged to have the perfect combination of ability, sportsmanship, integrity and character within the Dairy Industry. The winner will be announced and presented with their award at the Borderway UK Dairy Expo on 12 March 2016. ‘It was a total surprise and I am absolutely delighted to have accepted the award’ Commenting on receiving the award last Sammy said: “It was a total surprise and I am absolutely delighted to have accepted the award. We welcomed John himself to our farm, and he was without a doubt a true champion. The 5th Borderway UK Dairy Expo will be held at the Borderway Exhibition Centre in Carlisle on Saturday 12 March 2016.
