PIONEERING BUSINESS
EXCELLENCE
Becky and Matthew met
at a Young Farmers’ dance.
Becky comes from Guiseley
and through her passion for
horseriding had become a
member of Askwith YFC.
Matthew is a previous
chairman of Farnley Estate
YFC and is currently in his
second year as a club leader.
“It’s nice to be able to give
something back and we’ve
had a fantastic year with lots
of new junior members,” he
said. “We won at the County
Rally and in early December
we held an auction of promises
that raised £5,200. I’ve made
friends for life through it and
wherever you go you are with
people with whom you can
share memories. Things such
as stockjudging and public
speaking are life skills that
make young farmers stand
out.”
Matthew and Becky are
particularly pleased that all
three of their offspring are now
involved.
“Emily is now the club
secretary and just loves being
a part of the club. She lives
and breathes it!” her Dad
said.
The Farrars also employ one
man, Craig Driffield and are
keen to sing his praises.
“Craig is great. He is
so hardworking and also
combines working here with a
