We acquired our first Land Rover in 1973: a Series 2A green petrol LWB, which we converted into a sort of basic caravan, complete with two built in bunks and storage cupboards. We did have a tent too, but the Land Rover was sometimes our favoured place to bed down and the only drawback was the condensation that formed on the inside of the metal roof, even with the windows slightly open.
