The open day was a great event with more than 600 attending , the food and beer ran out ! and more than £ 4000 spent in the shop . Most of the Thirsk staff are newly appointed . The two sales managers are Tom Bolton , who has moved across from the Skipton Branch and Peter Stanley , who is new to Thirsk . Peter came across following the sale of Franks Curtiss , bringing his valuable Massey experience and contacts .
As part of Charlotte ’ s plan to raise Carrs machinery profile to the next level , they exhibited in their own right with a full stand at the Great Yorkshire Show , this follows increased presence at many of this year ’ s shows , including the all-important YAMS in February . The plan is to really give Carrs Billington Machinery the WOW factor . There was a surprise in store for customers at the Great Yorkshire Show in the shape of the including the Massey Ferguson IDEAL 8T Combine harvester , which certainly caught some eyes ! and created a lot of interest .
Another new initiative Charlotte is working on is a quarterly newsletter , which will contain the all-important second-hand machinery for sale - second-hand machinery has always been a big side of the business . This will also include product and business updates from our machinery depots , manufacturers and more , as well as special deals . There will be a brand-new website in September , which will be a greatly anticipated update for the company , especially the machinery side of the business , as currently 80 % of their website traffic is for second-hand machinery . Charlotte said she sees the newsletter and the updated website as key tools to keep the Carrs name in front of customers and potential customers .
