WELLFIELD FARM 41 • AUG/SEP 2019 FO R D C AT T L HE REFORD show people like David Hall of Rillington Fields and others for developing our numbers.’ ‘While George shows his Herefords at Malton we don’t show anything else as myself, Wendy and Maisie, who is a sheep steward, are too busy. Malton is now a fantastic show. Moving to Scampston thanks to the Legard family has been the best move we could have made. It is a great site, largely on sandy land that soaks up any rain. We now offer some of the best prize money around and have some great sponsors such as BATA.’ Autumn show and sale of Hereford cattle E year he just took one bull and it won its class at Malton and was second at Ryedale, but was reserve breed champion as the other bull went on to become champion. His bull Normanton 1 Jupiter was reserve interbreed three years ago at Ryedale.’ ‘We also fatten store lambs that we buy every month and sell from November each year.’ Kirkbymoorside YFC has played and continues to play a large part in the Bulmer family’s lives. Mark met Wendy through a YFC Exchange between Kirkbymoorside and Billinghay YFC. He is a previous chair- man and Henry is a current member while George and Maisie are chairman and treasurer respectively at present. Malton Show is another family involve- ment. Mark took over as cattle secretary in 2006. ‘My father was involved. When he stood down I went along to a meeting and took on the cattle section.
