New Landini 7 Series Robo-Six tractor launched

A new range of six-cylinder tractors for grassland and arable work was launched in the UK at the Royal Highland Show.
The Landini 7 Series Robo-Six replaces the current line-up with an all-new semi-powershift transmission, upgrades to the deluxe Lounge cab, increased hydraulics performance and higher power outputs from latest-spec engines.
Starting at 151hp with the Landini 7-160, the new range comprises five models with up to 206hp for draft work from the new flagship 7-230 Robo-Six. Like all models in the new lineup, these tractors also have Dual Power‘ boost’ for pto and transport operations, which takes peak power to 165hp and 225hp, respectively. Unusually, this automatically-engaged extra power feature is available on the top three models for pto applications when the
tractor is stationary as well as when working in the field.
The new ZF-built Robo-Six transmission increases the number of gear ratios available from 40x40 with the current Roboshift creep set-up to 54x27 with Robo-Six – so there are more speeds available for added flexibility within the important speed bands for different applications.
This is achieved five fully robotised ranges and six powershift steps, all controlled either manually using buttons on the control‘ joystick’ or via a new‘ intelligent’ automatic shifting system designed to more effectively extract performance and economy from the powertrain.
Also, a new Stop & Action feature makes life easier for the operator, who can bring the tractor to a halt on just the brake pedals before moving off again by releasing the brakes and applying revs.
Uprated service brakes are supported by an exhaust brake fitted as standard in response to the increased towing and road travel demands placed on modern tractors.
Under the hood, Landini engineers have installed the latest‘ green’ version of the 7.6-litre engine built by FPT Industrial, which uses a diesel oxidising catalyst( DOC) and uprated selective catalytic reduction( SCR) AdBlue injection system to further clean up exhaust emissions.
A new 160-litre pump option in place of the standard 123-litre / min unit is available for operating high-demand implements such as air seeders, and a separate 44-litre / min pump ensures there is always plenty of oil for the steering and the pto and four-wheel drive clutches.

Guidance solutions add precision to field tasks

A choice of hands-free guidance solutions for Landini tractors – from a simple steering wheel drive unit to fullyintegrated system – is available with top-level advice and back-up from Topcon Agriculture, one of the World’ s leading precision farming technology suppliers.
SOLUTIONS such as the Topcon AES-35 electric steering wheel drive unit enable farmers and contractors to cost-effectively equip an existing or new 70-140hp Landini tractor for more accurate bout matching with spreaders and sprayers on grassland or arable crops.
And at the top end of the scale, Landini 7 Series tractors from 140-225hp can have an integrated installation with ultra-precise RTK guidance to accurately bout-match cultivators, precision planters and seed drills to optimise productivity,
minimise running costs and ease the operator’ s workload.
These precision farming options result from a new global partnership between Landini manufacturer Argo Tractors in Italy and Topcon Agriculture to ensure that tractors assembled in Argo’ s factories are correctly equipped and configured to work seamlessly with Topcon products.
Topcon’ s AES-35 steering wheel drive unit provides hands-free operation using a GPS receiver and an in-cab console such as the X14, which is a 4.3in touch-screen device used solely for guidance, or
the X25 console, which adds mapping, data management and rate control options via its 8.4in colour touch-screen.
These consoles can also be used as part of an integrated system that will provide a further step up in terms of steering accuracy in the field, along with the range-topping Topcon X35, which adds camera feeds and ISOBUS implement control options to its 12.1in colour touch-screen, plus sprayer, spreader and seed drill sectionand variable-rate control.
