Driffield Agricultural Show
Winning
formula equals
another great
Driffield Show!
» TEMPERATURES SOARED
as the 141st Driffield Show took
place on Wednesday, 19th July.
Since it was first held in 1854
the Driffield Show has offered
visitors a vast spectrum of
attractions and entertainments.
With its winning formula of
celebrating the traditional
and embracing the future, the
Driffield Show has earned its
place as a ‘ must do’ event
on the calendars of both the
farming community and families
looking for a good value day
out and this year proved to be
no exception.
‘We hope that
we provided our
visitors with a
good value and
enjoyable day
from the moment
they arrived with
us to the moment
they left’
Around 22,000 visitors
enjoyed looking around the
exceptional livestock and
carcase section and browsing
around more than 500
trade stands, Handicraft and
Horticulture marquees, fur and
feather section and companion
dog show. The Rural Craft
Demonstration Area contained
a wealth of traditional crafts and
the Show played host to the
annual Landscape and Fencing
News sponsored National
Fencing Competition. Visitors
to this year’s Show were also
able to take advantage of the
opportunity to meet the team
behind the Bloodhound Project
involved in the race to run the
first car to reach 1,000mph and
to see the supersonic car at
close range.
As well as the wealth of
equine expertise that we come
to associate with the Driffield
Show, visitors were also
treated to entertainment from
the amazing Bolddog Lings
Freeystyle Motorcycle Display
Team. The Bolddogs are
Honda’s official and the UK’s
number one motorcycle display
team, and their act featured
the UK’s top ranked freestyle
motocross riders, incorporating
the latest heart-stopping tricks
as usually only seen on TV!
David Tite, Chief Executive
Officer at the Showground said,
“This year we listened carefully
to what our visitors have told us
in the past and we hope that we
provided our visitors with a good
value and enjoyable day from
the moment they arrived with us
to the moment they left.”
Plans are already well in
hand for the 142nd Driffield
Show which will take
place on Wednesday, 19th
July, 2017. Trade stand
