English wine producer chooses Weidemann
»»A producer of quality
English sparkling wines has
recently taken delivery of
a Weidemann 1350CX45
compact wheeled loader to
tackle a multitude of everyday
tasks at its West Sussex
vineyard.
Founded in 2004, Gusbourne
Estates grows classic
Champagne grape varieties
on 60 hectares of land in Kent
plus a further 30 hectares near
Chichester where the new
Weidemann machine is now
based. Supplied by local dealer R.
Philip
Ltd
Hunt of Basingstoke, the choice
of the 1350 followed a series of
trials by different machines during
which the Weidemann unit came
out on top.
Commenting on the final
choice, Gusbourne Estate’s
vineyard manager Jon Pollard
said: “We have used a similar
type of machine at our Kent
site since 2007 so had already
established that an articulated
compact loader with a good
choice of attachments suited
our application very well.
“In particular”, continued
Mr. Pollard, “it was the overall
compact dimensions of the
Weidemann unit combined with
its excellent lift capacity and
reputation for reliability that
clinched it for us.”
Weidemann’s 1350CX45
model weighs in at 2550 kg
and is powered by a Perkins
