Sunshine
& Success
for 140th
Driffield
Show
»»The weather was kind and the
sun shone brightly to create perfect ‘show
weather’ for the 140th Driffield Show. Once
again the Livestock Section was the ‘jewel
in the crown’ of the Driffield Agricultural
Society with an exceptionally high standard
of entries throughout the livestock and
equestrian classes. Entries also soared
within the popular Handicraft, Horticulture
and Fur & Feather Marquees.
More than 500 trade stands showcased
their produce with a wide spectrum of
products on offer - ranging from state of
the art precision farm machinery to homeproduced jams and preserves.
The Rural Craft Demonstration Area was
enjoyed by the 27,500 visitors passing
through the gates of the Showground and
gave them the rare opportunity to enjoy
watching craftspeople using traditional
methods not often seen nowadays. The
Royal Signals White Helmets display
team ensured that visitors remained
spellbound around the Main Ring while
they demonstrated their perfectly timed
breathtaking stunts.
Plans for the 2016 – the 141st - Driffield
Show, which will take place on Wednesday
20th July next year, are already well in hand
and the organisers say they are confident
that next year’s Show will continue to
include the impressive range of high calibre
activities, displays and demonstrations with
which visitors have come to associate the
excellent Driffield Show.
