It was the day from which all steel portal frames have to be designed and constructed to a standard which achieves the “CE Mark”. If a frame manufacturer sells a building, (and consequently if a farmer buys the building), which has not achieved this Certification then they (and you) will be breaking the Law. If you are buying a steel-framed farm building it is a significant investment and you should put an appropriate amount of effort into specifying your requirements and ensuring that you get a building fit for purpose. Do not assume that all “building suppliers” will do this for you.
