customers - and his insistence
on investing in the very latest
and best of machinery, the
latest example of which is
a £250,000 John Deere
combine harvester which is
certainly earning its keep,
along with a host of other vital
equipment.
“We have a superb fleet of
machinery which is one of
the things that sets us apart,”
says Tom, who admits to
being a “workaholic” whose
last holiday was in 2001. “We
have built up the business
by keeping watch on what’s
coming up and by always
being prepared for it – and
then we can really hit the
ground running!” he said.
PREMIUM SERVICE
“For us, 2014 has been a
record year with some new
ventures - there is always a lot
going on with all our machines
– and my team - working
incredibly hard in every aspect
of the business. I have built
up the business on offering a
premium service – people will
always pay a premium price for
a premium service and that is
what we will always provide,”
says Tom.
“We offer reliability,
commitment and a deep
understanding of the industry,”
he added. “And I have proved
that I am prepared to invest in
whatever is needed to keep my
customers’ businesses moving
forward.”
Testament to that is the fact
that the six-strong tractor
fleet, new combine, hedge
cutters - and a host of other
vital equipment – are all in full
throttle right now.
Whatever the season, the
team and the machines, are in
big demand for the myriad jobs
farming requires, including
sileage, hedging, digging etc.
Tom paid tribute to his staff,
his excellent suppliers and
his many customers without
whose support his business
would not be where it is
today.
Looking ahead and thanks to
the company’s proven reliability
and expertise – and the fact
that it operates only the latest
and best machinery, their grass
wholecrop and maize silage
acreage is growing vastly this
year.
“This will be a step into the
future of foraging maize silage
for an anaerobic digester
to produce fuel,” says Tom,
whose strategy of staying more
than one step ahead is clearly
paying off.
