MACHINERY YORKSHIRE FARM TAKES DELIVERY OF FOURTH KRAMER WHEELED LOADER A West Yorkshire farm has recently taken delivery of its fourth Kramer telescopic wheeled loader, a model 750T, to handle a wide variety of routine tasks on a seven-day per week basis. Delph House Farm in Denby Dale, has a herd of more than 100 dairy cows producing milk at a rate of some 3000 litres/day, most of which is sold to Meadows Foods. In 2008, however, the farm started to make artisan ice cream using milk from its own herd - and this business has flourished to a point where, not only does the farm have around 90 wholesale customers, but it also operates an on-site ice cream parlour and coffee shop which has proved highly popular with both local residents and tourists. Commenting on the latest Kramer machine to be delivered by the local dealer, Kevin Walker On Site Plant Services of Thirsk, farm owner Jeremy Holmes said: “Kramer loaders have performed a significant role on the farm for over 25 years and have always been our most important machine. “As with any hard-used workhorse, there have been occasional hiccups, but I have to say the service provided by Kevin Walker is second-to-none and I know that any problems will be sorted as quickly as possible.“ Powered by an oil-cooled Deutz diesel engine developing 45 kW (61 hp), the hydrostatic drive 750T features a rugged 4-wheel drive and 4-wheel steer system providing outstanding stability and traction and an ability to negotiate the many tight turns, difficult access areas and feed passages around the buildings at Delph House Farm. In addition, the 4.51 m of load-over height provided by the 750T’s telescopic arm makes it easy to fully load a trailer with straw bales working conveniently from just one side. According to Jeremy, there is no other machine of a similar size capable of performing all the tasks he demands from his Kramer.
