Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 October 2013
The 11th Countryside Live event will take place on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 October 2013 at the Great Yorkshire Showground, Harrogate, home of the Great Yorkshire Show. The busy event has something for everyone and will include competitive livestock and equine, farriery, pigeon and poultry classes, dog agility, a horticultural show, and dozens of stands for pre-Christmas shopping. New for 2013 is the horse driving trials competition which should attract a lot of interest. Northern Show Cross Finals which was introduced at the 2012 event will again feature, and also the show jumping

talent competition which is very popular. Countryside Live 2012 attracted a record breaking 12,061 visitors and it is hoped that this year’s event will exceed that figure.

MASHAM SHEEP FAIR
Masham Sheep Fair will take places on Saturday 28th & Sunday 29th September in Masham, near Ripon in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales. Masham boasts one of the largest and finest market squares in England, famous for its sheep sales where in the past, as many as 70,000 sheep were sold each year. The popular Masham Sheep Fair commemorates these times, raising much money for charity, and filling the town with ‘sheepy’ fun and entertainment. Events include an action packed programme on both Saturday and Sunday, with a Sheep Show, Sheep Racing, Craft Market, Bishop Blaize Procession, Fleece Stalls, Wool Competition, Sheepdog Demonstrations, Hand Bell Ringers, Morris Dancers, Art Exhibition and Tours of Theakstons & Black Sheep Breweries, as well as the Old Time Children’s Fair. The theme for the flower display in St. Mary’s Church will be “A Material Harvest” - there’ll be someone spinning, weaving and dressmaking along with displays of knitting, lace and embroidery.
Proceeds go to Yorkshire Air Ambulance and Herriot Hospice Homecare.

GET TO GRIPS WITH LATEST AT TILLAGE-LIVE 2013
Tillage-Live will take place at West Hall Farm, Welton, Lincolnshire LN2 3QF on Wednesday 11 September 2013 from 08.00 hrs to 15.00 hrs, offering visitors the opportunity to get to grips with the latest in cultivation equipment and soil management technologies. “This year’s Tillage-Live will be packed with useful information. The Knowledge Trail will provide visitors access to valuable, in-depth advice from industry experts on a whole variety of topics and as the largest cultivation demonstration in the UK there is the opportunity to view the latest cultivation equipment,“ said Duncan Russell of the Agricultural Engineers Association (AEA). Knowledge Trail stations will include the soil pit helping visitors to understand what is happening beneath the surface as a result of cultivation, as well as guidance on weed control strategies in cereals and oilseed rape from sponsors BASF.
