EVENTS UK FENCING CHAMPIONSHIP REACHES HIGHEST STANDARD YET AT DRIFFIELD Standards reached an all-time high at this year’s UK Fencing Championships at the Driffield Show. This was the sixth year of the championships in which 10 teams competed. Simone Gallon of Fencing & Landscaping News commented: “I would like to thank all the contractors for entering - they did an absolutely brilliant job. “A slight points miscalculation on the day means that Charlie Hubbard and team won again,” Simone said. “Charlie is now officially the man to beat!” Simone also paid tribute to the runners up, Tim Bennett’s team, Jack and Amish. “It was the first time they had entered and they did a superb job,” she said. Charlie Wright and George Bridge came a very respectable third. Simone expressed thanks to the sponsors, Judges and Jon Vicary who did such an excellent job compering throughout the day.
