which Martyn dubs “ The Pocket Rocket , great for in the yard and smaller field , goes like the proverbial , it ’ s distinctive black stripe markings make it a real stand out machine .”
The 2023 show is already in the diary for the 8th and 9th of March . This will be a “ Back with a bang ” event with lots of special things going on . There will be the official launch of the CLAAS Trion combine which has already outstripped expectations , indeed as Martyn said to me “ If we could get more we would sell more ,” This is true across the board , most manufacturers are under pressure , delivery times can be up to 12 months or more in some cases , so the message is clear , farmers need to plan ahead . The Rickerby management have made some intuitive forecasting and ordering in order to keep these delivery times to a minimum . Martyn said to me they are already placing orders for 2023 whilst waiting the arrival of 2022 stock !
As we well know Rickerby never stands still , 2021 is no exception . The Rickerby family have put their collective hands into the family pocket to the tune of 2 million pounds ! This is to fund and build from scratch their 9th depot at Burscough , near Ormskirk . This will give them a firm base in the area supporting their established sales teams and customer base . The new depot will be a state-of-the-art CLAAS style depot , run on exactly the same footing as all other depots , having a showroom and service facilities on site with all office administration taking place from HO at Carlisle . Rickerby ’ s full list of machinery and equipment will be available from Burscough as at all other depots . RIckerby depots don ’ t compete against each other , the whole group functions as one cohesive interacting unit . Since 2001 they have increased their depot number from 5 to 9 . The official opening is planned for early October with a day and a half event which Farmers Mart will be covering .
A big highlight for 2021 Martyn was keen to point out , was Rickerby winning The prestigious CLAAS UK ‘ Dealer of the Year Performance ’ award . This makes it a double as they also won the CLAAS Platinum Dealer Excellence Award . The award recognises the high overall level of performance by a CLAAS dealer in the UK and Ireland in three key areas : Finance , Dealer Performance and Customer Feedback . As the largest CLAAS dealership in the UK , for the business to excel in all these aspects is no mean achievement . This is because the award process not only assesses the dealership ’ s overall performance , but also the performance of each of its individual branches in all .
