Embracing the Challenges of 2020
The current situation has thrown up numerous challenges for us all in the past year . However , as I sat having a distanced discussion with Martyn Henderson , area director for Rickerby , we both agreed that agriculture has probably been the best industry to be involved with as we all have to eat , so crops must be planted and animals reared , etc .
NORMALLY , at this time of year , I am covering the annual two-day Rickerby Show , which is a celebration and showcase of everything Rickerby do and a big thank you to its many farming customers for their continuing business and , as ever , an enthusiastic welcome to all new customers .
As Martyn said to me , “ At Rickerby , we are a serious business who like to have fun as well . We want customers to feel at all times , that we are

very approachable , very easy to do business with and very good at looking after them , so once they become a customer , they remain a customer . Well , as you will see in this feature there are testimonial quotes from various farmers who have bought machinery and equipment from Rickerby .
Our conversation switched back to 2020 and how Rickerby have coped and how business has been .
Rickerby has always prided itself in being a company who are easy to approach and do business with . Martyn and Colin uphold those values in themselves and their teams as well as , Martyn said to me “ A slice of humour that keeps us normal “.
Many of you will have seen the videos that Rickerby have posted on the website and social media in the past couple of years . Something different and engaging for customers . Well lockdown has allowed these two intrepid salesmen to move things to a new level . As you walk into Head Office at Carlisle , what do you see in the corner but a sign saying Rickerby Film Studio !?
