FARM NEWS 13 • APR/MAY 2020 OF AGRICULTURAL ELECTRICAL INSTALLATIONS DRESSERS are main distribu- tors and installers of both ZIEHL-ABEGG fans and FARMX ventilation controls, the two typically being installed together in Pig, Poultry and Livestock buildings. ZIEHL – ABEGG Fans and FARMX ventilation systems represent some of the best and most cost effective in the market place. In agricultural operations and greenhouses, or systems for the storage and drying of agricultural products, the top priority is hygiene and ‘ the fans can be used for almost any agriculutral climate control requirements ’ sterility. In livestock farming, controlled climate management is the key factor for the health, productivity and freedom from stress of the animals. Fans and control engineering products from ZIEHL-ABEGG and FARMX ensure this through their significantly reduced levels of noise disturbance. Thanks to their robust and stable design, the fans can be used for almost any agricultural climate control requirements. Talk to Steven about your requirements. MAJOR INSTALLATION AT POULTRY FARM STEVEN Dresser’s latest major installation is at a Poultry Farm near York. This is following the erection of two new, state of the art, vast Poultry Sheds 400 x 80 FT and 480 x 96FT. The floors alone each took more than 250 m3 of concrete deliv- ered in 32 wagons, all laid to a glass finish to aid the regular cleaning process. These two sheds will house 50,000 and 60,000 birds respectively! The new sheds will complement the existing 30,000 bird units already there, which were also fully fitted out, tested and commissioned by Dresser’s 4 years ago. Installation of electrical systems for this size of shed require a lot of planning before work can be started. Dresser’s are experts in the planning and design of large installations for Poultry and Livestock sheds, as well as smaller units. Installation started in November and will complete by the deadline 1st March. This is quite an achievement when you consider each building contains 6 Miles of cabling! Along with automated feeders, drinkers, heating, lighting. Everything is fully timed and regulated to ensure the optimum health, wellbeing and uniform size of the birds. There is a 250 KVA backup Generator & associated switchgear in-situ – supplied by Yorkshire Generators, backing up the 4x sheds. Full LED lighting is fitted throughout. The power system’s running costs are reduced by the solar PV fitted on the site by Dresser’s 6 years ago.
