Derbyshire County Show
to return for 2018
TICKETS are selling fast for this
year’s Derbyshire County Show
and Food Fayre, which will remain
at its stunning new location in
Spondon’s Locko Park.
The 138th Derbyshire County
Show will be held on Sunday
June 24th, 2018 and is expected to
attract thousands of people from
across the region by showcasing
the very best that the county has
to offer.
The 2017 show was held at Locko
Park, just off the A6096 in Spon-
don, for the first time in its history,
to allow its previous home of Elvas-
ton Showground to recover from
flooding the previous year.
Organisers promise the event
will be bigger and better than ever
before with the return of a poultry
show and a Kennel Club Dog Show,
which will offer the chance to
qualify for Crufts.
One of the show’s annual high-
lights are the two performances
from J C Balls’ Dancing Diggers,
who astound audiences with
their intricately choreographed
routines to music such as Eleva-
tion by U2 and I Like the Way You
Move by OutKast.
There will also be a Food Hall
at this summer’s Show where
visitors can purchase delicious
produce, much of it produced
here in Derbyshire. As well as
cheese and artisan bread, the
Derbyshire County Show will
also host the award-winning
Nelson’s Gin.
There will be plenty of old fa-
vourites at the 2018 show which
will include livestock displays in
the parade ring, heavy horses,
vintage cars and tractors, show
jumping, light horses, craft stalls
and floral displays.

Following on from the
inaugural show in 2016, the

event – well organised,
visitor-orientated, industry
relevant and an exhibition
that was enjoyable – plus
added some extra aspects
to make sure newcomers
and past guests alike will be
satisfied. While the show
may have expanded its
reach – to reflect the ev-
er-increasing concerns and
considerations of security
and fire safety – there will
be no compromise on the
quality of displays, demon-
strations or exhibitors at the
event.
In addition to the trade
stands, all Lockex visitors
can take part in the free
workshops across the
weekend, hosted by some
of the most recognised and
respected names in the

features, and the problems
they solve in this one-hour
seminar.
As well as the video sur-
veillance workshops across
the weekend, at the Burg
Wächter stand this June,
