THE Rickerby show is a firm favourite in the Agricultural calendar and is one of the most successful in the country . This year 2,500 Farmers attended on the Wednesday with 4,500 plus across the two days . Year on Year success needs something strong behind it all , enter Rickerby ’ s dynamic duo Martyn Henderson and Colin Potts the two Area Directors who are a formidable team , Martyn and Colin are the leaders and drivers . That is the point really , Rickerby is a family business that has 130 employees that all pull together as one from the Cleaner to the MD everyone is involved which creates a great buzz that you feel not only on show days but every day at Rickerby

A good example of this is that a week before the show the ground outside was covered in 8inches of snow ! Martyn got stuck in with the team shifting the snow and they even downloaded videos onto the website showing the team sweat and toil dealing with the ‘ Beast from the East ’

Martyn is a great motivator and galvanises people into action . His relentless energy is infectious and occasionally he stops to draw breath .

I managed to snatch a chat with Martyn before the show started on the Thursday , we talked about the past year which has been very successful with sales numbers up all round . I asked about the success of Rickerby and why it has thrived for so
