Hallmark Tractors Limited
Russell’s maintain the
Hallmark of success
»»2015 WAS A LANDMARK
year in the history of the
successful North Yorkshire
dealership, Russell’s. Back
in August 2015 (following an
approach from New Holland)
talks began with the Derbyshire
Hallmark group, becoming
public in November and finally
sealing the deal on the 2nd
January this year. Hallmark
previously had two depots in
Ashby and Cubley along with a
turbine business.
After a long running success
of some 53 years the Hall
family wanted a change and to
diversify from the Ashby site.
Hallmark Tractors was originally
started By David Hall and
Brian Hall, Eddie Nash joining
the business 3 years after,
Eddie’s son, Jim who joined the
business in 1990 was keen to
stay on as he had an extremely
loyal customer base as well as
a passion for the business. This
was just what Paul Russell was
looking for - as ideally when
they took over Hallmark - they
were keen for it to be ‘business
as usual’ as much as possible,
and the more refining and
building they could do so much
the better, rather than having to
start from scratch. So Paul was
more than happy for Jim to be
General Manager.
In the spirit of continuity
and staff morale, in fact all the
Cubley staff have been retained
as have several from Ashby.

In order for Ashby customers
to receive the same service, a
parts drop off in the area has
been established and already
Paul and Jim are on the hunt for
some new premises. Hallmark
have some 8,000 accounts with
around 3,600 active at any one
time with a fairly even mix of
Dairy and Arable.
For now all machinery will
be transported to Cubley
for servicing and if need be,
replacement machines can be
supplied in the meantime. Jim
has
already
started to
build his team
up by recruiting Andy Loxton
who has been at PA Turney
for 19 years and was also at
Hallmark previously.
As well as new franchise
from Stewart trailers, all other
previous franchises have been
retained. Being part of the
Russell’s group means much

second-hand machines, greater
