4 in the order and became a
football referee for the Northern
Premier League. I remember
Keith Herd’s band playing
in the village hall and Olive
Messenger playing the piano.”
George started Northfield,
also the name of the house
he and his wife Jill had
moved to in Halsham after
their marriage in 1968, with
David Fussey and both Cecil
and Laurence Hodgson from
Great Newsome Farm nearby.
