making for a much stronger
construction. Moving around
we were able to witness the
new robot welder at work which
is used for all sub assemblies
for all the welding bays to
improve production times,
along to where all the chassis
work is done, where many
of the box section parts are
now being cut automatically...
Once in the welding shop you
really can see just how robust
and strong the construction
of a K Two really is. At each
stage, it was clear that every
member of the production team
is committed to making their
particular part of the process
the best and it was good to see
individuals taking an obvious
pride in what they do.
After seeing the welding
process in action, we went to
the shotblasting booth where
everything is stripped back
and prepared for painting. In
the paint booth, I came across
a chassis sporting a really
resplendent sheen. As we

stepped outside into the yard,
we could see an impressive
array of stock of panels, axles,
diiffs and tyres. A substantial
number of parts are kept in
stock for repairs, refurbs and
production. The current design
of the production facility does
sometimes cause a bottleneck
when the weather is poor and
it is not possible to put trailers
etc in the yard. But Paul has
refined the production layout
as much as possible in order to
accommodate the problem and
try to beat the British weather!
Plans are under way to build
above and enclose the whole
facility, which will mean nothing
stands in the yard and instantly
the paint process will be
enlarged and the completing
process speeded up.

It is an ambitious £2 million
build that will both improve
production times and future
