Moving around we were able to witness the new robot welder at work which is used for all sub assemblies for all the welding bays to improve production times, along to where all the chassis work is done, where many of the box section parts are now being cut automatically... Once in the welding shop you really can see just how robust and strong the construction of a K Two really is. At each stage, it was clear that every member of the production team is committed to making their particular part of the process the best and it was good to see individuals taking an obvious pride in what they do. After seeing the welding process in action, we went to the shotblasting booth where everything is stripped back and prepared for painting. In the paint booth, I came across a chassis sporting a really resplendent sheen. As we 36 Apr/May 2016 www.farmers-mart.co.uk stepped outside into the yard, we could see an impressive array of stock of panels, axles, diiffs and tyres. A substantial number of parts are kept in stock for repairs, refurbs and production. The current design of the production facility does sometimes cause a bottleneck when the weather is poor and it is not possible to put trailers etc in the yard. But Paul has refined the production layout as much as possible in order to accommodate the problem and try to beat the British weather! Plans are under way to build above and enclose the whole facility, which will mean nothing stands in the yard and instantly the paint process will be enlarged and the completing process speeded up. AMBITIOUS FUTURE PROOFING PLAN It is an ambitious £2 million build that will both improve production times and future proof the business for many
