Today, Vaderstad is a MultiNational Business Group
Turning over 230m Euros.
Based in Sweden, it operates
across 40 Countries with sales
into 19 European countries as
well as Canada, the US and
Australasia.
This hugely successful
business was the brainchild of
by Rune and Siw Stark back in
1962. They had a 30 hectare
farm in Vaderstad – hence
the name. In 1967, Rune had
developed the first folding
harrow, the Väderstad steel
harrow that was better than
traditional wooden harrows.
Very quickly neighbours and
friends were asking Rune to
build them anew harrow, and
from then on, the business
steadily expanded to become
the enormous success it is
today.

Vaderstad’s main production
sites are in Väderstad and
Overun with an assembly plant in
Liski, Russia. All these plants are
highly automated supported by
a 100 strong development team.
The company also has a sister
company, Seed Hawk, located
in Langbank, Saskatchewan,
Canada, with 198 employees
involved in the development
and manufacture of air seeders
(Direct Drills) which has made
them market leaders in Canada
and Australia.
Owned by the second
generation of the Stark family,
together with Siw Stark, several
members of the family work
in the business, headed up by
the impressive Christina Stark
as CEO. One of the many keys

ability to work as a cohesive
team always focussed on
understanding the conditions in
different countries throughout
the globe.
In 1990, they began
establishing a sales subsidiary
in England and there are
now 12 sales subsidiaries
responsible for sales, service
and aftersales. In each country,
the subsidiary is set up
together with ambitious and
knowledgeable farmers.
